NOTE ON THE MUSIC OF THE »GARDENS« PROJECT:
The music of »Gardens« is conceived not only as base for improvisation and meditation, but also as soundtrack for cinematographic works and audiobooks, for the development of cinematographic and theatrical scripts, of contemporary dance choreography, of reworkings of non-contemporary dances, of art installations of videos and / or of sounds and / or of lights, of exhibitions of performance art, of tableaux vivants, of gymnastic disciplines and of any form of performative art, that is, not only dance, music and theater, but also illusionism, mime, marionette and puppet theater and circus art.
Conceived in imitation of nature, the music of »Gardens« is like a river, always equal to itself but always changing, on whose banks to lie down without expecting anything.
Furniture music for public places and private environments.
MUSICAL FORM:
»Landscape Garden«'s albums featuring LOÏC ABDELFETTAH are divided in 3 large sections, within which this version of the »2 Books for Change« of 2021, dedicated to its first interpreter, is edited in several cycles of 6 albums each in the context of a post-production also oriented by the numerology of the »GARDENS« project.
SOME ABOUT THE »GARDENS« PROJECT:
Project with unknown and unpredictable outcomes, whose principles, defined and dynamic, are not calculation and in which the intimate relationship with nature becomes self-knowledge, »Gardens« is a musical and then multimedia translation of DUCCIO DEMETRIO's 28 Symbolic Gardens. »Gardens« is conflict of opposites (Heraclitean πόλεμος), which produces perfect harmony. It is adrenaline of profane gambling (alea) and bliss of divine play (लीला); crisis, in which it is necessary to know how to choose (κρίνω) and improvise. It is fear and desire when faced with dangers and crossroads (危機). It is risk (危) of traditional and consolidated balances breaking down and opportunities (機) to discover new worlds. It is labyrinthine narrative, which unfolds along the way, just as the paths of ANTONIO MACHADO are made by walking. It is roads without a map, which the authors trace together with their interpreters and which with theirs intertwine between magical thoughts in the Praladrit forest, which welcomes and informs the project. »Gardens« is a musical translation, realized with a first process, radicalized with musical pictography, of progressive reduction of scores of the past to the dot and the line; organized in »Books for Change«, which derive, by varying them, conception and denomination from the translation of the »I-Ching« by JOHN BLOFELD. »Gardens« is a multimedia transposition, that begins where the compositional process ends up revealing the bare structure and intrinsic beauty of the musical scores. »Gardens« is an evocative appeal to technology, largely developed with obsolete technological means always in dialogue with the most advanced forms of artificial intelligence. »Gardens« is the daily exercise of a path aimed at the essential, which began with the literal renunciation by its main author of all unnecessary material goods.
CONCEPT OF »THE LANDSCAPE GARDEN« AS PER THE PROJECT'S WORK PLAN:
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lILma3TZd-DZUH1M05Nn31iyFnFtR6L3?usp=sharing
Play of vision and perspective in depth and in extension, parks are small landscapes enclosed within the larger landscape that hosts them. Background and foreground chase each other and cross each other from metamorphosis to metamorphosis: from wild to orderly, from meadow to wood, they seek the thrust forward, the crossing of the fences, before the divine condemnation returns to immobilize them...
Those who love the park, and perhaps dream of visiting it even when it is closed to the public, are grappling with the dilemma between inner excavation and silent contemplation. Their primary need to wander and chase boundless beauty would push them further, but in the end they just need to get lost in the illusion of a horizon, which they can reach, when they want to.

In the bonus item you can find the extended trailer of »Alpine from Gardens: A Space Opera«, the sci-fi 3D animation winner of the prize for video art at the National Art Biennial »City of VERCELLI«, that was inspired by the first version without choruses of MANUEL CHIEREGATO's overture for »Alpine Garden«: a polyphonic loop for chamber orchestra, composed with prolation and mirror canons, divided into 8 equal parts, each of which was repeated by a synthesizer orchestra, which projected the sounds in the wider range of electronic instruments.
